Terms of service

Last updated: May 21, 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service explain how you may use KeySprint, including our typing tests, WPM checker, results screen, heatmap, certificates, and related practice pages. By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. What KeySprint provides

KeySprint is a free typing practice tool. It helps you measure typing speed, accuracy, errors, typed characters, and missed-key patterns. Some pages focus on general typing, while others provide specialty practice such as coding, medical terminology, Spanish, and 911 dispatcher-style typing.

Results are meant to help you practice and understand your typing performance. They are not a formal employment, school, government, medical, or professional certification unless a third party separately chooses to accept them.

3. Acceptable use

You may use KeySprint for personal practice, education, job preparation, and general skill improvement. You agree not to misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt to break or bypass security controls, overload the service with automated traffic, or use the site for unlawful activity.

If custom text or user-entered information is added to the service, you are responsible for making sure you have the right to use that content and that it does not include harmful, illegal, or abusive material.

4. Typing results and certificates

Typing scores can vary depending on your keyboard, browser, device, internet conditions, fatigue, selected test duration, and the text shown during the test. We try to calculate results clearly and consistently, but we cannot promise that every score will match another testing platform.

You may download a PDF certificate after completing a test. The certificate is a record of your KeySprint test result, not a guaranteed credential. If you need a certificate for a job, school, or agency, check with that organization before relying on it.

5. Privacy and local processing

The public typing test is designed to calculate WPM, accuracy, errors, and heatmap details in your browser. We do not require an account for public practice. If you choose to email results or contact us, the information you submit may be processed so we can provide that feature or respond to your request.

Please review our Privacy Policy for more details.

6. Intellectual property

The KeySprint website, design, code, branding, text, and original practice content belong to KeySprint or its licensors. You may use the website for normal personal practice, but you may not copy, resell, scrape, repackage, or redistribute substantial parts of the service without permission.

7. Third-party links and references

KeySprint may link to third-party websites or mention outside resources. Those sites are not controlled by KeySprint, and their content, policies, availability, or practices are their own responsibility.

8. No warranties

KeySprint is provided as is and as available. We aim to keep the website useful, fast, and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free results, perfect compatibility with every browser or keyboard, or that the service will meet every requirement you have.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, KeySprint is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages related to your use of the website. This includes lost data, lost opportunities, employment decisions, device issues, or reliance on a typing score or certificate.

10. Changes to the service or terms

We may update the website, add or remove features, change test content, or revise these terms from time to time. When we update this page, the new terms apply once posted. Continuing to use KeySprint after changes means you accept the updated terms.
