Privacy policy

Last updated: May 21, 2026

1. Our privacy approach

KeySprint is built as a simple, no-login typing test. You can practice, check WPM, review accuracy, see errors, and download a certificate without creating an account. We try to collect as little personal information as possible while still making the tool useful.

2. Typing test data

The active typing test runs in your browser. WPM, accuracy, typed characters, timer updates, errors, and missed-key heatmap details are calculated locally while you type. Public practice results are not saved to an account by default.

When you download a certificate, the PDF is generated from your browser using the name and score shown in the result window. The certificate is intended for your own records and sharing.

3. Information you choose to provide

If you use the email-results feature, you provide an email address so KeySprint can send your score summary. If you contact us, you may provide your name, email address, message, and any page URL or detail needed to understand your request.

Please avoid sending sensitive personal information, medical information, passwords, or private documents through contact forms or result messages.

4. How information is used

We use submitted information to provide the feature you requested, such as sending results, responding to questions, correcting page issues, improving test content, or investigating technical problems.

5. Cookies, analytics, and logs

KeySprint may use basic technical logs to keep the website secure and reliable. We also plan to use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the website, which test pages are most helpful, what devices or browsers need improvement, and whether pages are loading correctly.

Google Analytics may use cookies, device identifiers, IP-derived location information, browser details, pages visited, session duration, referring pages, and interaction events. We do not use Google Analytics to collect the text you type into the typing box, your certificate name, or the email address you submit for result emails.

Google may process analytics information according to its own privacy practices. You can learn more at Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

You can limit analytics tracking by adjusting your browser cookie settings, using privacy controls in your browser, or installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. Sharing information

We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information with service providers only when needed to operate the website, send email, maintain hosting, respond to lawful requests, or protect the service from abuse.

7. Data security

We use reasonable safeguards for the website, but no online service is perfectly secure. Because KeySprint is designed for lightweight typing practice, please do not use it to submit confidential or highly sensitive information.

8. Children and students

KeySprint is a general typing practice tool. If a school, parent, or organization uses it with students, they are responsible for making sure the use is appropriate for their setting and local privacy requirements.

9. Updates to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as KeySprint changes. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
